Trekking - Mt. Kilimanjaro
Kilimanjaro, the very word is magic. Lying
just three degrees south of the Equator,
Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) is the highest
in Africa and the highest single standing
mountain in the world.
An attempt for the summit may be made from several different routes. The following is a description of the routes so you can decide which one suits your needs.
The Marangu Route
Climbs lasting from 5-6 days via the Marangu Route can be arranged. The Marangu Route, sometimes referred to as the "Coca Cola Route," offers huts for overnight stays and a more leisurely trek to the top.

The Machame Route
Eco Tours can arrange climbs via the Machame Route lasting from 6-10 days. The Machame Route, although more physically demanding, offers a more scenic experience. Climbers stay in tents along the way.

The Rongai Route
The Rongai Route offers the best of both worlds. Similar in difficulty to the Marangu Route but with the true connection to nature that the Machame Route offers as you sleep in tents along the way. Eco Tours can arrange climbs lasting from 5-7 days.

The Umbwe Route
The Umbwe Route is, clearly, the most difficult of all the routes. Climbers stay in tents along the way and must traverse some challanging areas as they attempt to summit the mountain. Climbs along this route can last for 6-8 days. Ask us for more details.

The Lemosho Route
When Mountain Guides are asked, they all agree that the Lemosho Route is the "most beautiful" way to the top. A climb along this route can last from 7-10 days.
For those who want to take in the African Snow, Eco Tours can arrange for overnight stays at the crator of Kilimanjaro. Wake up at the top of Africa and see the sunrise as you have never seen it before.
We have a special information pack for climbing the mountain. Please contact us for
further details.
